to reach our property by car
The access roads to our property are not suitable
for long vehicles such as caravans, minibuses, or vehicles with trailers
Upper Entrance
This route is the shortest and most direct link between our property and Via Brigata Casale, but it features a very sharp turn that requires careful maneuvering.
- A) From Via Brigata Casale, at the “Farmacia” sign, turn toward Erta di Sant’Anna and follow the road downhill for about 100m
- B) Take the first road on the right (marked with a dead-end street sign and no trucks allowed) and follow it for about 80m slightly uphill
- C) Take the first small road on the left going downhill. PLEASE NOTE: the turn is tight and requires 2-3 maneuvers for most cars. DO NOT GO STRAIGHT BEYOND the intersection: you will be entering private property!
- D) After 20 meters downhill, you will arrive at the gate with the “Le Lavandere” sign
Lower Entrance
This route is the longer of the two and involves a few more intersections, but it has no sharp turns.
- A) From the roundabout on Via Brigata Casale at the intersection with Via Monte Sernio and Via Campanelle, take Via Campanelle (the first exit on the right of the roundabout when coming from the direction of Venice)
- B) After 70m, before the bus stop, turn left. The road immediately turns right and, continuing downhill, crosses a cycle path, then turns right again passing between two rows of apartment buildings
- C) After about 250m you will reach a new intersection: turn left and after 40m downhill turn left again. After another 100m on level ground, you will reach the intersection with Via Pagano
- D) Stay on Via Cesare Dell’Acqua by taking the road on the left, the one with the dead-end street and no trucks signs. The road becomes narrower here
- E) After about 300m, you will find the entrance gate with the Le Lavandere sign on the left.
Le Lavandere by bike
Le Lavandere is perfectly situated for those traveling by bike: just a few steps from the property, you can reach both the cycle network leading down to the center of Trieste and the trails climbing up to the Carso plateau. Whether you arrive by train or are exploring the area as a cycle tourist, below you will find the two recommended routes—complete with distance, elevation gain/loss, and surface type—so you know exactly what to expect before setting off.
Useful links:
Start in Opicina (approx. 320 m, a key point on the Carso Cycle Path) and descend almost to sea level, with a final climb of about 2 km to Le Lavandere.
Surface: asphalt and compact gravel - gravel bike or MTB recommended.
Almost entirely uphill: flat for the first section in the city, then climbs at a steady gradient for the last 2 km toward the hill.
Surface: urban asphalt.
Where we are
Le Lavandere^ is located in the Raute-Coloncovez district of Trieste, in a quiet, green area just minutes from the city center and the coast. Surrounded by trees, vegetable gardens, and the silence of the Carso, the property is easily accessible by both car and public transport.
